Welcome to Calvin Church School
- God seeks and accepts worship from young and old alike. Children have a meaningful place in worship as members of a covenant community. The children spend the first 15 minutes of each service worshiping with their families and their Calvin family. Children participate in the service by listening, singing, through drama presentations and by participating in Holy Communion throughout the year. After the weekly children’s story, children are invited to attend church school where dedicated teachers help lead them to Christ by laying biblical foundations for Christian growth and development. Children also participate in various missions projects.
- The church service starts at 10:30am, church school at 10:45—11:30am.
- Nursery & Toddler: Toddler Room (3rd floor)
- JK Through Grade 8: Church School Hall (2nd floor)
Please join us Sunday mornings |
Spark: Activate Faith is a Sunday school faith formation program designed to activate the faith of our children.
New to Calvin this year, we're excited so far with how well this Sunday school curriculum is going - for both leaders and the children. The cirriculum suits the needs of our congregation - offering flexibility and a lot of learning opportunities for the kids.
Based on the Spark Story Bible, this program's lessons are based on stories from the Bible. The lessons provide the Sunday school students with an opportunity to grow in God's love. Over 125 stories from the Bible are brought to life through games, art, music, and science - to accomodate all the different ways our children learn.
We also have an online component, where our leaders have access to a multitude of resources, activity ideas, preparation videos, and more. The better our leaders are prepared, the more meaningful for the students. We've found that both the leaders and the students are finding their faith (re)activated!

This year the Church school children are participating in missions work to help support Farmers in Pakistan via our denomination's relief agency: Presbyterian World Service & Development (PWS&D).
Children raise funds through weekly offerings and several times this year we'll have Desserts Made With Love a free-will offering for baked goods (baked with love by parents and children of the Church School program) after the Worship Service. We'll have these events on December 18, 2011; February 19. 2012 and April 15, 2012.
Visit PWS&D's website for more information on the work being done in the world.
