Presbyterian World Service & Development (PWS&D)

We reaffirm Calvin's ministry beyond North Bay through contributions to Presbyterians Sharing and Presbyterian World Service and Development (PWS&D). Over the next 5 years, it is our objective to continue support at the current level (approximately 10% of our 'total givings for all purposes'), and to increase 'givings for all purposes' significantly.

Kids-to-Kids Mission

The Kids-to-Kids Mission has become an integral part of Calvin. The support that the Church School children have from our congregation is nothing short of amazing. On the third Sunday of December, February and April, now fondly known as Desserts Made With Love, parents and children of the church school bake delicious desserts which are served after the worship service during the coffee hour. A basket is available for anyone wanting to support our mission project by making a free-will donation. Money is also donated through offering envelopes and the children’s weekly offering is all directed to the mission project. In addition to the fundraising component, the children meet to learn about the country and the children that they are supporting. One of the most exciting developments in Kids-to-Kids Mission is that the news is spreading outside Calvin’s four walls. A couple of children have, in lieu of birthday gifts, asked their friends to make a donation to our mission project – an amazing example of how our children are empowered to 'Continue the Caring of Jesus' and are ultimately making the shift from "me to we".
